1st day
Transfer or independent arrival to Cabras.
2nd day: Cabras – Tuili (85 km, climb 900mt)
Start in Cabras. After a quick stop by the sea in Torregrande, it’s already time to venture inland,
crossing the plains around Oristano to reach the gentle hills of the Marmilla region. Along the way,
you’ll visit villages where time seems to stand still. Tuili will be your base for the night.
3rd day: Tuili – Laconi (50 km, climb 900mt)
A scenic journey through the hills of Marmilla offers spectacular views. From Barumini, renowned
for Su Nuraxi—the most famous nuraghe in Sardinia—head to Gesturi to ascend the Giara, a former
volcano. On the Giara’s plateau, among ponds and cork oak forests, you may spot the small
wild ponies, black, with almond-shaped eyes, that roam freely in this unique landscape. Tonight’s
stay is in Laconi, a hidden gem of just two thousand inhabitants, nestled in a forest at the edge of
the Sarcidano hills.
4th day: Laconi – Belvì (42km, climb 1000mt)
Welcome to Barbagia! The true heart of Sardinia, small towns, warm hospitality, wholesome food,
ancient traditions and timeless culture. Trails winding through endless, fairy-tale forests and chestnut
and hazelnut woods, opening up into the silence of enchanted valleys will lead you to Belvì, a small village famous for its sweet cherries.
5th day: Belvì – Fonni (35 km, climb 1000mt)
You plunge into the chestnut woods round Tonara and Ovodda to reach Fonni, the highest town
in Sardinia, renown for its Savoiardi biscuits essential to any good tiramisù.
6th day: Fonni – Orgosolo (51 km, climb 1100mt)
This is the king of the mountain day! You will ride just below Punta La Marmora, the highest peak
in Sardinia set in the Gennargentu the quintessential mountain range of Sardinia. A vast territory
remarkable for its precious nature, largely wild and unspoilt and waiting to be discovered, with its
deep gorges and canyons. Your overnight is in Orgosolo famous for its murales, wall paintings –
witnesses of past years of social unrest.
7th day: Orgosolo – Cala Gonone (50 km, climb 800mt)
You follow the foothills of Supramonte, the island’s biggest limestone massif to enjoy a rest at Su
Gologone. This spring has been declared a national monument, thanks to its extremely deep blue
and green icy waters. This fantastic trip ends in Cala Gonone, set on the eastern coast of Sardinia
with a dramatic coastline where the mountain plunges into the sea. Enjoy a breathtaking view over
the Gulf of Orosei, and reward yourself with a refreshing swim at Cala Luna or Cala Fuili.
